THE SKINNY “Wild At Heart” Beach Club in New York
No need to travel outside of Manhattan for a beach club vibe this Memorial Day weekend! The must-see on the Lower East Side, Lean (174 Orchard St) is gearing up to launch its first spring/summer pop-up, “The heart that is in Desert Beach club.” The Skinny, known for its annual anti-holiday pop-up Naughty or Nice, brings waves of entertainment from May 26 through Labor Day weekend, not to be missed.
The Skinny, transformed into an avant-garde tropical oasis, will be decorated from floor to ceiling with palm tree wallpaper, a wall covered in greenery with protruding hot pink skulls, the ceiling covered with oversized upside-down cocktail umbrellas (aka paper umbrella), with more surprises to make you feel like you’ve been transported from paradise, carefree in the world.
The heart that is in Desert The beach club will offer special dishes, beach-themed cocktails like Mermaid’s Wish and Asphalt Oasis; and no beach club is complete without specialty frozen drinks.
No stone (or shell in this case) was returned! Expect events to take place throughout the week, with entertainment and specials, including Thursday night’s Retro Beach A-GO-GO party, with GoGo dancers starting at 10:30 p.m. $10 specialty cocktails, the Friday Night Burlesque Show every Friday from 9-11 p.m., upstairs at The “Lady Orchard Lounge”, Saturday and Sunday, 2-hour bottomless brunch from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. ($39) . Additionally, Sunday and Wednesday will feature 0.50 cent wings and Monday through Friday there will be $10 Food with a Beer specials (food selection changes daily)
Stop by for all the beach club debauchery kicking off May 26th. This will happen until Labor Day weekend.
